Hi Bokmas!
Sorry it's been so long since we've posted an update. Things have been moving so quickly around here we can hardly keep up! As you all know, Louis decided to take the position with Apple and is now finishing his last week with Cypress. We sold our townhome (in a record 3 days!) and are now just waiting for the closing. We flew down to San Jose again last weekend to find a rental home (we plan to rent for at least a year before buying) - and found a beautiful home right on a nature preserve not too far from Cupertino (although Louis will have a bit of a commute).
Our new home is just off the eastern side of the Dumbarton Bridge in an area called Mayhew Landing - central to San Jose, Oakland, and San Fran. In fact, we will only be 25 minutes from all three airports (so no excuse not to visit!!!!). The house is in a great location - adjacent the Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge (which spans 30,000 acres of open bay, salt pond, salt marsh, mudflat, and upland habitats - see pics above). So Henry will have exciting places to explore and Louis will have no excuse not to get in shape with all the running/bikikng trails ;). The house has 4 bedrooms with tons of room for guests so we are expecting all of you to come visit us :)!!!!
The next few weeks will be very busy for us as we prepare for the move. Thankfully, Apple is handling most of the moving logistics, but there will still be plenty for us to do. We plan to move out the week of March 19th. As soon as we know more details on exact dates we'll let you know. We're excited that Mama B, Papa B, Juila, and maybe Johanna too will be in town to see our new place the first weekend we're there - it will be so good to see you guys :)! Sharon and Derek we hope to see you soon too!!! May be we can do Christmas in California this year? Just a thought :)...
In other news, my mom's side of the family and my sister have all been in town this week to spend time with my grandpa and so I've been busy seeing family and visiting grandpa in hospice care. He is very weak and doesn't have much time left, but he continues to have a sense of humor even with all the pain. We all love him so much, it will be hard to say goodbye. I'm thankful that I can be here to spend time with him right now.
Also, Louis has just come down with a cold (probably from the plane) so please keep him in your prayers. It's no fun being sick, especially with all other things going on right now. I'm disinfecting everything he touches so that Henry and I don't catch it too ;).
Okay, we love you all and miss you so much. Thank you so much for all your prayers.
Lots of love,
shan

That is one purty house and area, just a bit different from your home in Seattle. :)
I am so happy for you guys.
My prayers are with you as your grandfather nears death. He is a wonderful man, what a blessing to have such a special grandpa.
