Pumpkins and Earthquakes

Hi all,
We experienced our first California earthquake last night! At a little after 8pm Louis and I were carving pumpkins in the kitchen (Henry already asleep) when we heard a loud, deep rumbling noise. Before the ground even started shaking Louis shouted "EARTHQUAKE" and ran up to Henry's room faster than the speed of light and had all 3 of us huddled under a doorway within seconds. I'm glad he is so rational and quick thinking!!! It was a small/moderate quake by California standards (5.6) but significant enough to freak us out. We felt the ground shaking beneath our feet and our chandeliers were swinging. Anyway, we all survived ;). It was not on our fault line (our house sits right on top of the Hayward fault) - but on a fault very near to us (the Calaveras fault). Here is a map of the epicenter and also our pumpkins - which suffered no damage due to the rumble, thank goodness ;)...

Happy Halloween :)!

ps - please keep Henry in your prayers. He came down with another cold yesterday and this one is pretty bad. I'm taking him to the doctor this afternoon - he is just miserable, poor little pumpkin.
