The first days (and nights!!!)

Sunday:
The first night home was difficult. We had a few visitors which was wonderful. We received ice cream and flowers from Andrew and Kristin, a delivered pizza from Sharon and Derek, and Dick's cheeseburgers & shakes from Kryssa and Darren! After all the visitors, we began the night journey. First, we were very concerned that the monitoring system was't working, and were checking on him constantly. Henry slept fairly well for the first part of the night and then was up from 12:30 - 4:30 so we didn't sleep much the rest of the night.

Monday:
Shannon's parents came Monday morning and spent most of the day with us, which helped tremendously. They prepared lunch for us and watched Henry while we got some sleep.
Then we had a little scare; we went to the post-partum nurse because Henry had shown a slightly high jaundice level when we left the hospital. We found that he has been losing weight and was down to 8lbs 3oz. Because Shannon's milk had not come in, when he was breastfeeding, it was really only acting as a pacifier. The nurse told us to start supplementing with formula. So since then I have been able to feed him too, after he nurses. We also wanted to have him right next to us during the night, so we bought a travel crib (we can bring it anywhere we go now--even to Idaho!).

Tuesday:
Shannon's parents came once again and today made us a eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit, coffee, and chocolate muffin breakfast. Very yummy! Shannon and I took a walk (Shannon's first since the big push). We had homemade lunch (Shan's parents once again) and then went to a lactaction consultant (in response to Monday's visit). Thankfully, Henry gained 5oz from yesterday and Shannon's milk is starting to come in so Henry should putting on the pounds soon ;). We had a quiet dinner at home just the three of us and then Jen and Roth came over with dessert (and a cool rocker/sleeper). Now, we are both (I mean all three of us) are very tired and heading to bed.

Here is a video and some pictures.
